From the Land of Kansas, an organization that promotes and supports state made products and restaurants, has chosen Shiloh Vineyards as the site of their very first “Taste of Kansas” dinner on August 4th.
As Western Kansas’s first wine producing farm, Shiloh Vineyards is the perfect place to host the organization’s Kansas Agriculture Experience Dinner. The farm-to-fork event will showcase the wide range of products produced, grown, or raised in our state with stories of the producers’ commitment to excellence and details about the production of these superior products.
These same products will become ingredients in a multi-course dinner prepared by Trego County’s local chef Ean Mong. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of Las Vegas, Mong honed his culinary skills in the kitchens of notable chefs like Master Chef Raymond Hoffmeister and Chef Thomas Keller. He has since returned to WaKeeney to share his culinary artistry with the people of Northwest Kansas. Today, his “Leap of Faith Catering” is regularly featured at many events around the region and at Shiloh Vineyard, where he thoughtfully pairs selections from their wine list with each delicious course.
The “Taste of Kansas” dinner on August 4th will begin with a cocktail hour and entertainment provided by country singer Lucas Maddy from Norton County. Guests will be encouraged to savor each dish as the story of its ingredients are detailed and the producers’ histories and passion for their products are shared by the organization’s presenters.
Join us on August 4that 6pm at Shiloh Vineyards and Winery in Trego County for a Taste of Kansas! (Must be over 21+ to attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the From the Land of Kansas website.)
