It’s been another great year at Shiloh Vineyard, with an early crop of grapes to go into our Vidal Blanc, Brianna, and Noiret wines. Now it’s time to celebrate this bountiful harvest at the annual Fall Harvest Celebration!
Owners Kirk and Treva Johnston are experts at capturing the warmth and subtlety of a Kansas sunset inside a grape, including the latest vintage to be produced in the Vineyard; Chambourcin.
Chambourcin is a French-American hybrid created from a variety of grape that has only been widely available since 1963. It’s a dry red wine that boasts a deep color and aromatic profile. Naturally versatile, it pairs well with grilled meats as well as dark chocolate.
Chef Ean Mong will be preparing a four-course meal for the Fall Harvest event and has selected a menu that will accompany the night’s wine selections. Mong cultivated his culinary artistic skills in Las Vegas under the tutelage of Ronald Reagan’s former chef and Kirk and Treva are delighted to have him bring his talents to the Shiloh’s kitchen.
After the meal, enjoy a stroll around the grounds and relax under a canopy of stars. Shiloh Vineyard is Trego County’s premier event venue for weddings, showers, receptions and reunions. But don’t leave without picking up your favorite vintage to take home with you!
The Fall Harvest Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 6pm inside the Shiloh Vineyard barn located at 16079 M Rd. southwest of WaKeeney (check out directions on their website). This is one of their most popular events and seating is limited so make sure to reserve your spot at their table soon.
