You line it up just right. You raise your club. You wind up your back swing, then—wham! You’ve just teed off at Big Creek Golf Course.
WaKeeney’s public golf course offers players nine holes of challenging play on a rolling prairie landscape with native Buffalo grass fairways and lush, close-cropped watered greens and tees. With a yardage of 6251, a slope of 122 and a rating of 69.6, you’ll have the opportunity to send that ball sailing in an arc across the big, beautiful prairie sky.
Before you start get some practice in at the driving range and putting green. It’s a great place to get your kids interested in the game or work out the kinks in your own swing.
Then hit the course to take on its challenging length and the elevation changes that golfers find while playing at our course. The twists and turns you’ll encounter along the way will present opportunities to try new strategies on your journey to the green.
Big Creek Golf Course is a member of the Kansas Golf Association, and the 70-par course regularly hosts tournaments and events throughout the year. Carts are available to rent and an on-site clubhouse offers a nice respite between the first nine holes and the second.
