If you love the sound of a rumbling engine and the design and craftsmanship of one of America’s most important industries, you belong at Mike’s Place every last Thursday of the month. Beginning on April 28th this informal gathering of classic cars brings people who want to show off their rebuilt cars and gun those great American motors just to hear them roar.
Whether you love hot rods, old time buggies, slick 1950’s luxury cars, or the muscle cars of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, you’ll find conversations about every facet of these legendary cars inside and outside the bar. Motorcycles are also represented during Cruise Nights, and you’ll often see them side-by-side with the cars.
Mike’s friendly wait staff will be serving up pub grub and drinks from their fully stocked bar, too! Their menu features everything from regional favorites like Mike’s German Sausage plate, to the classic hamburger or a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with hand-cut fries. To kick off their “Cruise Nights” they’re featuring a special of smoked pork chops, cheesy hash browns and corn for $10.
Mike’s Place is decorated in classic Americana style, representing our community with TCHS letterman sweaters and football jerseys hanging on the wall next to vintage road signs. Two pool tables and plenty of great sports viewing on their flat screen TVs are also available to satisfy your competitive spirit. Check their Facebook page to get the latest on live bands they plan to host in the future, too!
Ever since the first car rolled off a Detroit assembly line people who grew up in small towns knew summer evenings were meant for cruisin’ around town. Your friends were always out there and your favorite tunes would be playing on the car radio. At Mike’s Place, 111 N 6th St. in downtown WaKeeney, you’ll find all these great memories alive and well, and great food and drinks, too!
