Spring is just around the corner and The Secret Garden and Flower Shop has planted the seeds for a fruitful grand opening this March at its new location on the corner of Main and Barclay in downtown WaKeeney.
Owner, Andrew Miller, has been a part of the Trego County community for years, having grown up north of Ogallah before attending Kansas State University. After graduating in 2008 he decided to come back home to use his education in setting up a greenhouse on his family’s farm. Over the years his business has bloomed into a prosperous supplier of landscaping plants and garden starts for several greenhouses around the state. Now he’s bringing his expertise into town so everyone can enjoy a bountiful harvest of their own.
“We have several projects that we want to add as the business grows, including providing our customers with fresh produce grown year round in our on-site garden.”
–Andrew Miller, owner of The Secret Garden and Flower Shop
Miller has plans to update and expand the business he purchased, adding a walk-through herb garden and solarium to give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the plants they can grow in their own yards and gardens. Debra Kerr-Hunter, previous owner of the greenhouse and flower shop Miller has taken over, will assist in the transition and be on hand to create beautiful floral designs for Valentine’s Day. But get your orders in now for delivery or you might be too late for a bouquet for your sweetheart!
Get your garden ready for the March grand opening of WaKeeney’s newest business, The Secret Garden and Flower Shop! Andrew Miller’s greenhouse and florist shop is sure to bloom into a valuable addition to our community and a fun place to explore anytime of the year.
