Once a year on Halloween night something mysterious happens in WaKeeney. Pint-sized ghouls, ghosts and goblins creep out from their hiding spots to converge at the Annual Halloween Madness, turning our normally peaceful town into a spooktacular party where the frights are fun and thrills rule the streets. Don’t be scared though; we’re a friendly group of spirits that will bring the spirit of Halloween 2015 to life in you, too!
For this year’s frightful festivities our sponsors, the Trego Recreation Commission and the TCHS KAY organization, have planned a night of fearsomely fun activities for our kids and their families. Students from Trego Community High School will be helping out, with hayrack rides provided by the Future Farmers of America and a Haunted House full of scary monsters and spine chilling thrills created by the Science Club.
Games, like Bobbing for Apples, will test your little one’s mettle and we’ll be searching for the best costume in a contest where gift cards to local businesses will be awarded for the scariest looks of the night. And every sweet toothed monster can parade by our decorated “Trick or Trunks,” where local businesses will be handing out candy from cars parked in front of their stores. It’s a chance to let our ghoulish kids fill up their candy jars until next year!
WaKeeney’s Annual Halloween Madness will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 4:30pm on WaKeeney’s Main Street & Court House Square, so put on your bravest face underneath your scariest Halloween mask and join us for some spooky treats, and a few tricks, too!
