Life in the fast lane has never been more fun than what you’ll find at the WaKeeney Mini Speedway during the racing season!
Scheduled on specific weekends from April to October, an estimated fifty entrants bring out their karts for exciting action and family fun on the speedway’s dirt oval racetrack. Our races feature several different classes of drivers; Rookie, Junior 1 & 2 classes in Heavy Flathead and Heavy Clone karts, three adult divisions Stock Heavy, Clone, and Animal, and the Masters division for those racers 40 years plus.
Taking NASCAR sized love and squeezing it down to pint size is a labor of love for Jason Pierson, president of the Speedway. “Karts come from all across the United States to compete here in WaKeeney,” Pierson explains, “It’s a family oriented event that encourages sportsmanship while having fun with your kids.”
The 2015 season is coming to an end on October 10th when our last race will conclude with the year’s trophies being awarded to the top point earners at an end-of-season banquet for the drivers and their families. And mark your calendars this month for one of our most highly anticipated races, the Haremza Memorial Race, on September 26th.
Join us in the stands and around the track with free entry for the public, or purchase a pit pass to visit the drivers and check out their carts beginning at 4pm. Hot laps start at 5pm and the checkered flag initiates the first races at 6pm.
