Bright lights, exciting action, and nail biting competition! The 2015 Trego County Fair is upon us and it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet!
There’s something for everyone at WaKeeney’s annual fair. Take a ride on the wild side on the Midway’s amusement rides, compete for a blue ribbon in the 4-H, FFA, and Open Class exhibitions or meet up with friends at the Granger Smith/Earl Dibbles Jr. concert on Friday night.
Horse and rider teams showcase their skills daily in the fairground’s Horse Arena and throughout the day judges will scrutinize hundreds of ag products, arts and crafts, and food entries in the fairground’s exhibit buildings and livestock arenas. Family friendly activities are planned throughout the week—laser tag, anyone?—and, don’t forget the Talent Show or Sunday night’s infamous “Muddy Pig Brawl.” It’s sure to leave you laughing!
Break out your leather jackets and poodle skirts for a 50s themed costume party at the Sundowner Lounge on Wednesday night, then get your game face on for a Horseshoe and Washer Tournament Saturday on the Courthouse lawn. Floats, horses, and classic cars and trucks will fill WaKeeney’s downtown during the annual Trego County Fair Parade on Saturday morning, so come on down to Main Street to celebrate the “150th Anniversary of the Butterfield Overland Despatch,” this year’s fair theme!
Join us this week, July 28th to August 2nd, to enjoy an true American tradition. Good times, great events—and you—are found at the 2015 Trego County Free Fair!
